Jonathan Davis is a Toronto-based illustrator and fine artist. On the illustration side, he produces digital storyboards and renderings for film production companies and advertising agencies, in Toronto and worldwide. On the fine art side, he creates paintings in traditional media for exhibition and sale, and by commission.
While attending OCAD’s Drawing & Painting program, he spent a year abroad in Florence, Italy, fostering an appreciation for classical art. He received additional training at one of Canada’s foremost mural companies, Lorimer Studios. After graduating from OCAD in 2002 with an Associate Diploma, he gained several years of design experience in the art departments of feature films, later expanding his career into digital storyboarding and concept art, which he continues to this day.
His personal work combines figurative, portrait, landscape and narrative formats. Working on panel, canvas, large scale mural, and computer, his media of choice range from oils to watercolour, spray paint to digital. He draws on years of experience in film production, and an early career in graffiti art.
Davis offers his illustration services to clients in the advertising, film, and publishing industries. Sales and commission inquiries on his paintings are welcome.
